Coming Home Trees
My range inspired by Cookworthy Knapp, or The ‘Coming Home’ or ‘Nearly There’ trees – a famous sight on the A30 to returning residents of Kernow or travellers coming to holiday in Cornwall. The Coming Home trees are situated at Lifton near the Devon/Cornwall border and it is said they were originally planted by a farmer around 1900 in a heart shape (when viewed from the air) for his wife. The trees are handmade in appliqué and free motion embroidery.
