Description
A6 ‘Nearly There’ or ‘Coming Home Trees’ journal cover in Harris tweed with free motion embroidery / appliqué front cover showing the Trees scene. The spine is reinforced in snakeskin vinyl. The Coming Home Trees journal is supplied with an Oxford A6 Black ‘n’ Red ruled notebook and, as the cover is removable, can be renewed with any similar A6 book. The maker’s label and Harris Tweed Orb label of authenticity are placed internally.
Cookworthy Knapp, or The ‘Coming Home’ or ‘Nearly There’ trees are a famous sight on the A30 to returning residents of Kernow or travellers coming to holiday in Cornwall. They are situated at Lifton near the Devon/Cornwall border and were originally planted by a farmer around 1900. It is said that the copse of beech trees was planted in a heart shape (when viewed from the air) for his wife. There’s even a facebook group!
